Caltech Visitor

Prospective students and their families, vendors, alumni, and other visitors may use the Caltech Visitor network for wireless access while at Caltech.

Visiting faculty, staff, and students from participating institutions may access eduroam while at Caltech.

  • Reauthentication required every 24 hours
  • Access to web and email

How to Connect

If you have a mobile phone that can receive a text message, follow these steps:

  1. Open WiFi Settings and select Caltech Visitor
  2. Open a web browser and go to www.caltech.edu
  3. Enter your name, email address, and mobile number. The default country code is USA. There is an option to select a different country code.

Retrieve your password

  1. To retrieve your password, go to your phone's text messages and find a message from: +1 (626) 247-3366 providing a 6-digit code from Caltech Visitor Login.
  2. Go back to the web browser to enter your password
  3. Accept the terms of use and click Register. Your device will connect to Caltech Visitor

If you do not have a mobile phone that can receive a text message, follow these steps:

  1. Call the operator or visit the Help Desk located at 367 S. Holliston Avenue, Room 204, Central Engineering Services (building 85) between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday-Friday. Provide identification (driver's license or passport) to receive a password
  2. On your device, open WiFi Settings, and select Caltech Visitor
  3. Open a web browser and go to www.caltech.edu
  4. Click on "Already have an account? Sign in" at the top
  5. Enter the username and password issued to you by the Help Desk
  6. Accept the terms of use and click Register. Your device will connect to Caltech Visitor.

Request a special Conference Password

IMSS can setup a special Caltech visitor password to make it easy for your conference and meeting attendees to login with during their stay. Please contact the Help Desk with at least 3 -5 days notice before your meeting start date.
